INSURANCE CLAIM INVESTIGATIONS:
I am insurance fraud certified and I work with claim representatives, adjusters and Special Investigative Units (SIU) to provide additional information on suspicious or incomplete claims. Past cases include:
- Medical Injuries (whiplash, spine, soft tissue)
- Motor Vehicle Accidents including fire
- Homeowner and Business Losses
- Injury at the Workplace (Ergonomics)
CRIMINAL DEFENSE: I’m experienced at working with criminal defendants, including sex offenders and substance abusers, and I’m on the Vermont Defender General’s list for contractual investigators. Some of my skills in this area include:
- Developing the witness list and locating leads
- Promptly getting measurements, photos, sketches and other crime scene information
- Locating witnesses and obtaining detailed statements
- Evaluating witnesses and potential witnesses helpful to the defense
- Canvassing the neighborhood for additional witnesses or information
- Doing collaterals with law enforcement, Department of Corrections, treatment providers, landlords, neighbors, employers, family and other involved parties
- Discovering areas of reasonable doubt important in trials
PERSONAL INJURY INVESTIGATIONS: Personal injury cases are challenging, interesting and sometimes heart-wrenching. I can assist attorneys with these cases by:
- Promptly interviewing the victim and getting photos of the injuries
- Quickly visiting the scene for detailed photos, measurements and sketches
- Locating and interviewing witnesses, ambulance personnel, law enforcement, property owners, property managers, security staff, experts and others
- Investigating defendant’s record of previous accidents
- Obtaining CAD, ambulance and police reports
- Researching information and collecting data specific to the injury
- Consulting with VOSHA and OSHA
RECORD SEARCH AND RETREIVAL: I’m practiced at navigating the maze of public record searches. I can promptly and accurately provide the full range of public records and documents while complying with Vermont’s Public Access Law. Common sources for records include the courts and administrative offices of the Judicial Branch of the State of Vermont, all state of Vermont offices including the Secretary of State and the Department of Motor Vehicles and all Vermont county and municipal offices.
CORPORATE PROCESS SERVICE: Corporate process service requires tactfulness, professionalism and knowledge of the Vermont Rules of Civil Procedure. I can swiftly serve litigation paperwork such as subpoenas and summons and complaints to corporations and businesses in Vermont. Notarized affidavits and Return of Service forms are expeditiously completed. I’m a member of the National Association of Professional Process Servers.
